Positivity is one of the most amazing traits we all wish to possess. Right?

This is even necessary to live a normal life. We often see influencers talking about ways to build positivity. But staying positive all the time is not realistically possible. We all tend to lose at one time or another. Sometimes situations or circumstances or pressure can make us think negatively. This also impacts our physical health and mental health.

These impacts once ignorable start becoming noticeable. That’s where our struggle for positivity begins. At one time or another, all of us have gone through these situations. I remember a few years ago I started seeing severe behavior changes in myself which ultimately affected my sleeping and eating patterns. I started struggling with sleep for which I went to the best physician in Lahore who prescribed me certain medications to fix my sleep.

But deep down I knew what the problem was. This was the moment of realization for me. So, I started listening to motivational speakers but it didn’t work for me. Then I started working on my thoughts and eventually learned how to stay positive while dealing with situations and people. If you are also wondering how you can do it then I suggest you read the following section:

    How to Stay Positive?

In case you are wondering what you can do to think positively in all difficult situations, here are some of the best tips to follow:

    1- Focus on the good

Whenever we find ourselves trapped in a situation, this is when we forget to talk about the good things. The more time we spend in it, the blind we become to the good part. So, here I want you to remember all the good when you feel down. No matter how insignificant it feels to you, make sure to count it. Look around yourself and find your reasons to be happy and feel good.

    2- Retrain your brain

Every one among us has a different way of dealing with things. So, when you are at a certain point in your life you may develop a way of thinking negatively. That’s because something made you like this and you become habitual of beating yourself up continuously. Staying positive is even important for these people. So, here all you can do is make your brain think the other way. Do it slowly but try to retrain your brain and make it think good.

    3- Practice gratitude

Just like positivity, gratitude is one of the most important things we need to do. This will help us to overcome the negativity that tends to impact us. Learn to be grateful for what you have without complaining. So, make sure that you never fall short of gratitude. Make it a habit to begin your day by counting your blessings and end it too to begin and end your day well.

    4- Identify negativity triggers

Many things make us feel good. Similarly, some things make us feel bad. We can call them the triggers for negativity. These triggers can vary from person to person. So, if you want to overcome the situation, make sure to avoid these triggers of negativity.

    5- Do positive self-talk

Just like doing negative self-talk, positive self-talk is really important. This will make you feel good about yourself. Self-talk helps people to address their thoughts and overcome what’s causing them to think negatively. Here, positive self-talk can help you. Start doing it in front of the mirror every single day and over time your negative self-talk will become positive self-talk.

    6- Show self-compassion

Compassion can also help you to overcome your negative thoughts. Every negative situation gives you a chance to be a little less on yourself and be self-compassionate. Self-compassion is as important as being compassionate for others. This is not only about treating yourself and being responsible for your actions but it begins with accepting that you are a human and giving yourself the margin to commit mistakes. This will also make you develop new skills.

Other than this, also add the physical activities that will make you feel relaxed. Yoga can be a good addition to your routine as it has many known health benefits of yoga.

    Bottom Line!

Staying positive in all situations is important for all of us. But there is a little we can control about it. However, we may develop it over time by taking smaller steps. All the above tips can help you overcome negativity and let you be positive in all situations. Also, make sure when to seek help and do it when you need it.
